At first sight Zelanophilus provocator and Australiophilus ferrugineus are very similar. In their details they are now placed together in very separate groups based on morphological and sequence data lies close to the base of the Geophilomorpha in the family Zelanophilidae. Both are very long centipedes with about 105 and 63-83 segments respectively.
