Tongodesmus stilifer

Dalodesmidae  : Dalodesminae

Although there is only one species decribed in this genus there are about a dozen more. This described species is common and widespread in forests of the North Island and the northwest of the South Island. Other species are further south and there are several known only from caves in Nelson and Westland, where they may be obligate troglobites.
