Holcaspis intermittens

Carabidae  : Harpalinae  : Pterostichini

A common Mid- and North Canterbury species. It can be recognised immediately by its larger size (though H. suteri and H. hudsoni are similar) and the presence of two cones on the underside of the head close to the base of the mandibles and the pair of pits on the mentum.
