Ballophilus hounselli

Schendylidae  : Ballophilinae

One of the rarer centipedes of New Zealand. Easily recognised by its colour and shape. It is pale creamy-orange with bright violet spots on the underside (when alive but paling on preservation) and the front of the body is thinner than the back end. The head is very small and the antennae are weakly clubbed.
