Australopacifica mariae

Turbellaria
Geoplanidae  : Coenoplaninae

This is the "stickiest" of all New Zealand flatworms. It not only has a very sticky slime but also is very tough. Unlike all its relatives it has very strong muscles and does not break up on handling. No doubt these features are a great advantage when the flatworm tackles such large, active beetles as this Megadromus walkeri carabid.
